Ruff Craft is led by Emily Ruff, a queer builder in Portland, Oregon. Emily has more than ten years of experience as a trained hobbyist and will be transitioning to full-time carpentry and construction in fall 2024. Her work focuses on reusing salvaged timber and materials. She also loves teaching and empowering people to learn to build things from wood.

Emily's training includes a certificate in Sustainable Design/Build from Yestermorrow School (2016) and leading youth woodshop courses at Portland Public Schools’ after-school programming (2017–2019).
