Ruff Craft is led by Emily Ruff, a queer builder in Portland, Oregon. Emily has more than ten years of experience as a trained hobbyist and transitioned to full-time carpentry and construction in 2024. Her work focuses on reusing salvaged timber and materials and renovating/remodeling existing structures. She also loves teaching and empowering people to learn to build things from wood.

Emily's training includes a certificate in Sustainable Design/Build from Yestermorrow School (2016) and leading youth woodshop courses at Portland Public Schools’ after-school programming (2017–2019).
